Dixie Picnic Restaurant opened in 2006 as a full service restaurant in Ocean City New Jersey. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts, it soon found a following with locals and visitors alike. Dixie Picnic’s food philosophy is simple. We start with quality ingredients, prepare our menu items fresh and often, and enjoy the food in the company of family and good friends. Our Upcakes ship anywhere in the Continental United States and make a great gift for any occasion. Birthday boys and girls of all ages, homesick college students, lonely shut ins, hungry recuperating patients, friends, lovers, and professional colleagues. Upcakes convey any sentiment you’re sending by their quality and uniqueness. Our online store also offers goods we serve in our restaurant from quality merchants, like Morning Star Coffee and Anson Mills. These are merchants that we’ve chosen because they are the best at what they do. Many of our goods we’ve packaged for our customers so they can recreate some Dixie Picnic flavors in their own kitchens. Shipping Information:

Dixie Picnic ships Only Monday through Thursday. Because of the perishable nature of our Upcakes, they must be delivered the following day to maintain their quality. Orders will be filled usually within 24 hours or the following normal shipping day.

Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies: Dixie Picnic will refund or replace any product that you find unacceptable whithin 30 days of receipt. We cannot take returns on items because of their perishable nature. Please contact us by email, phone or fax with the particulars of your inquiry. Include name, address, order date and item in question and specifics of your problem. We will try to resolve any problems to your satisfaction.

Why does Dixie Picnic only ship Upcakes from Monday to Thursday?

Upcakes are made fresh daily in our Ocean City NJ restaurant, and are delivered by UPS for next day delivery. By offering shipment only on these days we insure freshness and the ability to offer timely delivery of our Upcakes to any part of the Continental United States.

How long will Upcakes last upon arrival?

Upcakes last for 3-4 days at room temperature after arrival, but they usually get eaten before that time.

Can I freeze Upcakes?

Yes! Because of the quality ingredients we use to make Upcakes, they can be frozen directly in the box they arrive in. Properly sealed, they will keep for 6 weeks in the freezer. Thaw about 1 – 1 ½ hours prior to eating and they will be like fresh.

Do Upcakes contain Trans fats?

No, Upcakes do not contain partially hydrogenated oils.

No, Upcakes are not gluten free. A large portion of their ingredient is flour.

At this time we do not have a sugar free Upcake, but the Dixie Picnic cooks are working on one that will meet their standards. Check the website frequently for its debut.

Although we are careful to thoroughly wash separate between batches of Upcakes, please be advised that all Upcakes are prepared in a kitchen that has various types of nuts present, including peanuts, pecans, almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, pistachios, and sunflower seeds. Please use your knowledge of any personal nut allergy issues to make the decision whether it is prudent to order Upcakes.

Is Dixie Picnic a franchise?

No, Dixie Picnic is privately owned and currently has only one location, although there are future plans for private expansion into the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

I have had other flavors at your Dixie Picnic restaurant that I do not see on your order form. Can I order these flavors for shipment?

While we bake many flavors at Dixie Picnic, we have offered only our standard flavors for mail order shipment. This insures their availability any day of the shipping week. If you wish to order flavors not listed on the order form, we require a one dozen minimum order and a 48 hour advance notice. Please call our restaurant to place these special orders at 609-399-1999.
